This October was special for Dance for the Cure. Not only did we mark our 25th anniversary, but we also set new records and expanded our impact. Here’s a look back at what we accomplished together.
Expanding Our Reach with Tie the Town Pink and the Pink Bow Project
The Tie the Town Pink initiative grew bigger than ever, spreading across 46 towns in 4 counties this year! From Hillsborough to new communities, these pink displays were a visible reminder of support for those impacted by breast cancer.
The Pink Bow Project also had a record year, with 450 businesses joining in by displaying giant pink bows. It’s incredible to see these simple symbols of hope pop up all over our community.
A Record-Breaking Fundraising Year
Thanks to your support, this year’s October campaign brought in $181,000—our biggest total yet. To put that in perspective, that’s more than three times what we raised in 2017.
Every dollar raised goes to breast cancer patients in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. Your generosity helps families with financial struggles during an already challenging time, and we couldn’t do this without you.
Ribbons of Hope was A Night to Remember
Our annual Ribbons of Hope fundraiser was at capacity this year, selling out in mere weeks, and as always, the highlight of the evening was the incredible basket raffle! Our baskets are the stars, and the team behind creating them, fondly knowns as “Basket Genies” outdid themselves yet again. The event raised more money than ever and brought together so many incredible people who support our mission. Visit the gallery of photos from the event!
Highlights from the Community
We were also honored to receive proclamations from Branchburg, East Windsor, Hillsborough, Raritan, Warren, and others recognizing Dance for the Cure’s work. On a lighter note, we also entered the Hillsborough Scarecrow Contest—and took first place overall with the most beautiful creation by one of our volunteers!
This year also marked an important milestone: we expanded our support area to include Mercer County, allowing us to help even more breast cancer patients.
Looking Ahead
As we wrap up this milestone year, we’re filled with gratitude. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported our October efforts. Together, we’ve made a real difference for local families. Here’s to continuing the work in the years ahead!
