Celebrating Community Support

Dance for the Cure’s 2024 Proclamations

October has always been a significant month for Dance for the Cure, a time when our community comes together to raise awareness and support for local breast cancer patients. This year, our efforts were recognized across several New Jersey towns and counties through official proclamations, underscoring the shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.

Branchburg Township

On September 23, 2024, Co-Founders Kathleen Cirioli and Joanne Liscovitz were honored with a proclamation from Branchburg Deputy Mayor Thomas Young. This recognition highlighted Dance for the Cure's financial assistance to breast cancer patients across Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex, and Mercer counties. The township also embraced the “Tie the Town Pink” campaign, placing pink ribbons on trees throughout October to promote awareness.

East Windsor Township

In East Windsor, Mayor Janice S. Mironov issued a proclamation declaring October 2024 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, specifically recognizing Dance for the Cure’s contributions to the local community.

Hillsborough Township

On September 24, 2024, Mayor Robert Britting Jr. and the Hillsborough Township Committee presented a proclamation acknowledging Dance for the Cure’s ongoing efforts to provide financial assistance to local breast cancer patients. Hillsborough remains deeply

connected to our mission, serving as both our hometown and a hub of volunteer activity.

Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners

At the county level, Dance for the Cure was honored on October 15, 2024, with a proclamation presented by Director John Kuhl and Deputy Director Susan J. Soloway. This county-wide recognition highlights the far-reaching impact of our support programs.

Middlesex Borough

In Middlesex Borough, Mayor Jack Mikolajczyk declared October Breast Cancer Awareness Month and encouraged local citizens to support Dance for the Cure. This proclamation serves as both an acknowledgment of our work and a call to action for continued community involvement.

Raritan Borough

On October 8, 2024, Mayor Nicholas Carra honored Dance for the Cure with a proclamation recognizing our growing impact in the Raritan community. Notably, this year marked Raritan's first participation in the “Pink Bow Project,” an initiative that is now set to become an annual tradition with the support of Council President Donald Tozzi.

Warren Township

The Township of Warren also joined in recognizing Dance for the Cure with a proclamation celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month and our “Tie the Town Pink” campaign. Special thanks were extended to Deputy Mayor Lisa Lontai and the Township Committee for their dedication to raising funds for local breast cancer patients.

A Shared Commitment to Hope and Support

These proclamations aren’t just formal acknowledgments, they represent real community support for local breast cancer patients. They highlight the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our donors, and the trust placed in us by local leaders and residents.

At Dance for the Cure, we’re focused on helping people facing the financial challenges of breast cancer. The money raised goes to patients in need, and every initiative—whether it’s Tie the Town Pink or the Pink Bow Project—helps bring attention to this cause.

We’re grateful to every township and official who recognized our work this year. Their support helps us to keep making a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.
