On April 1, the area around the Blue Star Memorial Garden at the Hillsborough Municipal Complex (379 South Branch Rd) was transformed into a striking display of over 50 vibrant pink signs—each one placed in honor or in memory of someone impacted by breast cancer.

This powerful new initiative, the Pink Ribbon Tribute, was organized by Kathleen Cirioli, co-founder of Dance for the Cure and a three-time cancer survivor. Inspired by her own journey and her commitment to helping others, Kathleen wanted to create a visible, meaningful way to honor those affected by breast cancer while raising awareness of Dance for the Cure’s mission.
There’s something undeniably moving about seeing so many pink signs gathered in one place. Each one carries a simple message, but together, they send a strong statement of love, remembrance, and support.
A special thank you to all the employees of the Hillsborough Township Municipal Complex who supported this initiative—from the Groundskeeping Department to the Front Office, Administrators, Township Clerk, Social Services Department, Police, and elected officials. Your enthusiasm and collaboration helped Kathleen bring this vision to life. We’re already looking forward to doing this again next April.
While the Pink Ribbon Tribute serves as a beautiful reminder of the lives touched by breast cancer, it also highlights why Dance for the Cure exists. Many local breast cancer patients struggle financially due to their diagnosis, and thanks to generous donors, DFC provides direct financial assistance to those in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties who need it most.
The signs will be up for the entire month of April (April 1–30). Whether you drive by or take a moment to walk through the display, the impact is undeniable. We hope this will be the first of many years for the Pink Ribbon Tribute, continuing to grow as more people come together to honor, remember, and support those affected by breast cancer.
